Students Obtaining Success is a program for students on academic probation at UNC Charlotte. We realize that poor academic performance can have many different causes. This program is designed to help you personally identify those reasons and develop an action plan to improve your grades and return to good academic standing.

Benefits
In Spring 2006, we offered SOS for the first time to a small number of students.
-
The majority of SOS participants returned to good academic standing. All agreed that this program helped them.
-
Many of our participants attained a semester gpa of 3.000 or better. One SOS participant was on the Chancellor's List for achieving a semester gpa greater than 3.8!
-
Participants who met with their mentors regularly as part of this program were far more likely to regain good academic standing than those not participating in SOS.
